Groups Advocating For Civil, Human and Migrant Rights

Some people will find themselves in situations where their human rights are infringed. Luckily for you, there are groups of advocates that dedicate their services to human, civil and migrant rights. You or your Friend will not be alone in the case of law infringing.

The Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin get arrested on October 18, 2007. Maricopa county sheriff, Joe Arpaio accosted them from their homes at midnight after they uncovered grand jury proceedings seeking out reporters articles covering the sheriff.

Later on, the jury demanded to have the identity of citizens who had been following the New Times stories on the sheriff. Larking and Lacey being well versed in the first amendment rights sued their county and prevailed with a $3.75 million settlement.

The Lacey and larking dedicated the settlement money to the Lacey and Larkin Frontera fund. They formed the group to support groups advocating for human, civil and migrant rights in Arizona and the Mexican border.

Also, they support those advocating for civic participation and freedom of speech. The Phoenix new times co-founders, Michael lacey and Jim larking believe in the equality for all fight to ensure all rights are respected.

Amazon Watch

The amazon, largest tropical rainforest, is famous for its biodiversity. Due to this, it is a great place for development projects. The companies investing here will, however, ignore the fact that there were people already living in this location.

Amazon and other places like it have its indigenous people displaced as projects such as oil and gas take their place. Amazon watch is a group pushing for the respect for indigenous people’s rights and the environment at large. They are based in San Francisco and work mainly in the amazon basin.

ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project

ACLU is a group focused on the civil and human rights for immigrants. To achieve this objective, they employ outreach, advocacy and litigation for immigrants. In fact, they offer the largest litigation program via the district and supreme courts.

The Advocates for Human Rights

They are a world organisation at the frontier for human rights enforcement. They have seen people suffering as collateral damage for some political or economic, Plot.

While enforcing the rule of law, Larkin and Lacey use the support received to implement international standards of human rights. For over 30 years, they have fought to ensure women, children, immigrants have a voice and a place to belong in the world.

There’s great decentralisation in the world and excellent communication showing us trends in every continent. These group of advocates are not comfortable seeing the world forget its people or have others trotting in the mud.
