The Brown Agency was launched in September 2015 when Wilhelmina Austin acquired the Heyman Talent-South agency. At the time, The Brown Agency became one of very few talent agencies in the state of Texas and the only major talent agency in the city of Austin. In addition to its main office in Austin, The Brown Agency has regional offices in Dallas and Los Angeles.

Justin Brown, formerly the head of Wilhelmina Austin, took on the role of CEO at The Brown Agency. Brown is a former model himself; you may have seen him in Lucky Brand ads for skinny jeans. A native of Reno, Nevada, he spent his early career in California before moving to Austin in 2005. He started his first licensed, full-service talent agency in 2008. Justin’s favorite quote is, “We are only as good as our talent.”

According to Market Wired, the theatrical division of the agency is Michael B. Bonnée, who previously worked under Heyman Talent-South. Michael B. Bonnée is also the co-founder and CEO of Magnolia Media Productions, a bespoke video production company. Magnolia Media’s productions include music videos, live events coverage, real estate videos, and hospitality virtual tours.

Brown’s staff of seven agents currently represents more than 450 talents. The Brown Agency, like all modeling agencies located within the state of Texas, is regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission.
